The King

It was midday, and this splendid male lion had tucked himself into this bit of shade next to a bush, and was quite content sleeping the day away, occasionally lifting his head to see what was going on.

Koppies

Near our home there are these outcrops of rocks, and I just love the way they change color depending on which way the sun is shining. Here it was late afternoon sun, and they glowed orange in the sun.
Oil on canvas - 600mm x 460mm. Can be rolled into mailing tube.

Mud Wallow

It was a very hot day in Chobe, Northern Botwana, and this old man decided to head off to his health spa. He gave a sigh of contentment, and sank down into the mud bath, and the oxpeckers massaged and tendered to him!!!

Peek a Boo

This moment was hilarious, we were driving through the bush and came around a corner into a breeding herd of elephants. With lots of trumpeting and earflapping, the herd moved their babies into the bush to safety ....... with the exception of the matriarch who patrolled up and down the road until her family were safe. She then took up position right next to the road just behind the tree, almost hiding away from us, but keeping her eye on us to make sure we left!!!

Landscape1 and 2

Another couple of small landscapes. I know my passion is painting wildlife, but I also enjoy painting these landscapes, and sometimes need a break from the intensity of painting animals.

I loved the peaceful feeling when we found these rapids on a friends farm. I hope that you enjoy them, and that they transmit that feeling of peace.

Traditional Huts

Small oil painting on canvas on board - 355mm x 250mm

Guinea Fowl

Guinea Fowl have always been my favorite birds - they just seem so busy. We came across these just after it had rained, and they were drinking from the puddles on the road.

Martial Stare

It was a very hot day and we were at Nxaai Pan, trying to find some shade around the waterhole and watching what came down for a drink. This beautiful Martial eagle regally landed and began drinking. I jumped out of the car and inched a bit closer to try and get a better picture of him, and he watched me every inch of the way.

Zebras at the waterhole

I seem to have a fascination for painting Zebra - maybe it is the stripes that get to me.
This was bought as a wedding present for a young couple, I hope that they love it and get many years pleasure from it - and that they view it together for many years to come.
SOLD

Dust Warriors

We came across these zebra fighting at dusk - it was wonderful to see them against the sun kicking up all the dust.
